Sammy is making progress and we want you to know about it! This puppy-sized senior has become extremely loyal to his foster family and has even decided that his foster dad is the BEST person in the whole world! In fact, at night Sammy likes to play with his toys with his foster dad and they have fun every night together. He has become sweet, loving, and cuddly with his foster family and is really a joy when he feels secure. Sammy is still dealing with past trauma and he is looking for a home that is very calm, very stable, and of course very understanding of his needs. He is a very small dachshund who is distrustful—however, once he gets comfortable with you, he WILL be a dream. Sammy deserves to be given a chance to learn what love is. Sammy is still working on his fear and anger but really has made some great strides with his foster family. If you are an experienced dog owner who spends lots of time at home and is looking for a companion who will be loyal and protective, look no further—submit your application now!

Love dachshunds and not ready to adopt or circumstances won't permit having a dog?  How about being a sponsor or making a donation.  Every one of our dachshunds receives excellent medical care along with day to day food, love and housing.  Being non-profit, we rely on generous individuals like yourselves to help save these fur babies.  You can do this specifically for one dog with the sponsor button on their webpage or a general donation on our “How To Help” page.  Easy and quick through Pay Pal or your debit/credit card.  You generosity is sincerely appreciated by all and is tax deductable.  Need other ideas?  You'll find tons of them on the How to Help tab.  All contributions are tax deductable.

Diamond Dachshund Rescue of Texas is a non-profit 501(c)(3) volunteer organization with focus on rescue and adoption of pure breed Dachshunds.  All dogs are fully vetted and housed on private property.  Meetings are scheduled upon adoption approval.  Thank you for your continued support to the rescue and shelter communities!  Opt to Adopt!
