I’ve been with my current foster parents for about 3 months now and they say I am a really sweetie. I’m potty trained, love being in my own crate space and don’t mind car rides too.

I’ve gotten really comfy with my current family – as I tend to follow them around (the downstairs area), especially if they are in the kitchen! BUT – if they don’t close the gate to the upstairs, I may try to follow them up there. That’s a definite no-no … STAIRS ARE NOT A GOOD THING FOR ANY DACHSHUND!  Same goes with the front door – open it and I may quickly just run out, and I run fast too! CAUTION!!!

I don’t really bark, but have more of an “oinky” sound.. like a little piggie would … this is to let you know I want outside for potty time or want something else. I do have a REAL voice, as my foster mom discovered me barking with the neighbor’s dog on many occasions now. It was a BIG SHOCK – I REALLY DO BARK!!!

I got my dental work taken care of this month – I sure do feel so much better getting rid of those bad teeth I had and now all my happy sweet kisses smell good! The little “V” cut in my ears are an old breed marker. Rest assured though, I’m still very pretty, sweet & unique! I love to be in your lap with a warm blanket me. Although I’m hard of hard of hearing and a bit blind, I do NOT like thunderstorms or fireworks!

I’m a tiny, petite gal – my bones aren’t showing too much since my foster parents have been feeding me good dry dog food, and adding warm water to it! I may not always be able to hear you, but if I see you – I will run towards you and around the table or island. Oh, and I sure do love to play with my foster brother and sister – both senior dachshunds like me. Life is good here, but looking for my FUR-EVER family.

** Emmie Lu is a little bit picky about other dogs. She loves other dachshunds... but ONLY dachshunds.
