Deena is a sweet older mixed female. She yips and wags her tail as fast as she can when you come home. She is so happy you are home to love on her and to take her outside to sniff around and potty. She is almost 10 years old and spent her entire life with a woman who could no longer care for her and trusted us to provide her with a good home. Deena is a little shy at first but so badly wants to be loved. She takes a little bit longer to warm up to other dogs and doesn’t really enjoy them in her personal space. She does not lash out but does make the other dog and humans know she is uncomfortable. I wouldn’t call her a lap dog but she loves to nap by you on her yellow pillow she came with. She also LOVES sleeping in the human bed! She is not a typical burrower but instead enjoys sleeping at the end of the bed in her own blanket. Many times she has been found sleeping upside in the morning snoozing away. Deena loves going on walks, exploring at the dog park, and of course any treat you are willing you share with her. If you are looking for a good companion she is your girl! She will surprise you all the time with how funny and sweet she is.

Diamond Dachshund Rescue of Texas is a non-profit 501(c)(3) volunteer organization with focus on rescue and adoption of pure breed Dachshunds.  All dogs are fully vetted and housed on private property.  Meetings are scheduled upon adoption approval.  Thank you for your continued support to the rescue and shelter communities!  Opt to Adopt!
