Hello, Lt. Columbo here. I am a black and tan dapple miniature dachshund. I am about 5 years old and about 11 lbs. So, as it goes, back in January I found myself in some hot water. I was in a local animal control shelter. I was heartworm positive and needed treatment. Luckily, DDRTX rescued me and put me in a foster home who made sure I got to all my appointments. I finished my treatment and am ready to find my forever home.

One thing that you won't know by looking at me is how special I am. I'm a really smart, funny, charming boy. Once I settle in I give kisses and lap snuggles, but it may take me some time to get there. I really like my foster mom, but I can be kind of particular about who and what else I like. I can be pretty vocal about certain things: like when her visitors move quickly, or children, for example. I enjoy pups of all sizes, but I'll be honest, I don't want to share my toys with them.

Just one more thing, I don’t really get along with small humans. They scare me a whole lot so I really need to be in a house without any children.

I am really eager to make you happy. I need some help, guidance, and patience from you, but I really enjoy when you are proud of me. I use a dog door, I walk on a leash, and I sleep in a crate... see what a good dog I am?
