Hi there! My name is Fergie... I’m a little over a year old and a super sweet and very smart little lady. I am potty trained, I LOVE food and sleeping in the big bed with my humans. I am deaf and blind, but that doesn’t stop me from enjoying life. My favorite pastimes are snuggling with my foster humans, eating, chasing my foster siblings and fuzzy toys. I learned how to use the ramp to go outside to go potty on the first try and I respond very well to touches- I’m learning the signal for dinner and “no”... my sense of smell is extraordinary, I follow my foster mom like a shadow, she can’t shake me. I like to nap at her feet or in her arms. I like to meet new people but am a little nervous at first, so give me time to process your smell. I almost forgot that I enjoy wearing dresses and bows in my beautiful hair...

Love dachshunds and not ready to adopt or circumstances won't permit having a dog? How about being a sponsor or making a donation. Every one of our dachshunds receives excellent medical care along with day to day food, love and housing. Being non-profit, we rely on generous individuals like yourselves to help save these fur babies. You can do this specifically for one dog with the sponsor button on their webpage or a general donation on our “How To Help” page. Easy and quick through Pay Pal or your debit/credit card. Diamond Dachshund Rescue of Texas is a non-profit 501(c)(3) volunteer organization with focus on rescue and adoption of pure breed Dachshunds. All dogs are fully vetted and housed on private property. Meetings are scheduled upon adoption approval. Thank you for your continued support to the rescue and shelter communities!
