This sweet girl ran into a garage of a couple in Del Rio during a very scary thunderstorm.  They called us after being unable to locate her owners due to no collar and no microchip.  They drove to San Antonio so we could take care of her and find her a forever home.

We don't know her story or what caused her to be wandering lost and alone during the storm but she is in good hands with her Foster Mom and Dad.  After an extensive dental surgery, it was decided the best course of action was to remove all of Ferni's teeth.  But don't think this will stop her!

She's has recuperated from surgery and is on a soft food diet and is ready for adoption!

PUPDATE:  

It has been so much fun to watch Ferni's sweet and playful personality emerge!  When she first got here from Del Rio, she didn't feel so good.  She had an ear infection, infected teeth, and was underweight.  She was understandably a little quiet and withdrawn. Now, this fun little girl likes to chase, be chased, having staring contests, and get belly rubs!  She gets so excited when her foster mom comes home, she has a little sneezing fit.  It's adorable! She gets along great with her foster siblings, even the bossy chihuahua.  She caught on to using the doggy door very quick.  She's not crazy about being in a crate, but no issues when it's a must.  She now has no teeth and will need soft food.  She has blossomed so well with a safe environment and attention.  She is ready for her forever home!
