What a story Jessie has to tell along with the whole group of our “Toy Story Dogs” Thus their choice of names.

Jessie came to us in the truest form of rescue efforts. Life was not the best for her until she came into Diamond Dachshund Rescue but her transformation has been truly amazing. From emaciated to blossoming now with beauty and grace.

With healthy eating and proper exercise Jessie has truly changed in to a beautiful dog. Along with looking better she has had greater socializing with her foster siblings and foster humans. She has taught herself to be independent of the crate. She no longer hides there out of fear. She learned quickly that going potty outside was so much better than messing in her environment. Something she had not had any choice of before coming to her foster home. However she does accept her crate now as a place to eat and stay temporarily when foster mom has errands.

Its been fun to watch her transform from fear to love. Seeing her accept new foster siblings and learn playing is ok. Seeing her learn how to be accepted and learn manners and earn her place in the group has been rewarding to the whole family.

Jessie has been gradually healing from some mild health issues and is truly feeling happy and is quite active. She loves being outside laying in the sun. Feeling the true freedom from her kennel and learning to trust people and their goodness again. She will need a family understanding of safety practices for Dachshunds,  limited leaping or jumping.

Jessie is smart and a quick learner.  She loves leaning into you to give hugs. She truly loves the respectful 6 year old boy in the house as well as the foster dad. She simply wants to feel love and give it in return. Considering her past this is the most special part of her transformation. She is free to be your “rooten tooten” Cowgirl hound dog  with spunk one minute and “lovin and hugin” the next!
