Kayla is a pretty 6 year old red female.  She was found wandering the streets with her brother Colin. A good samaritan found them but could only keep 2 of the 4.  So she reached out to us to see if we could help.

Kayla is very friendly, loves to give kisses and cuddles.  She wants to be near her humans and in their laps.  She loves her brother.  She even protects him at times in a motherly way and tries to help him feel more secure.  She will come for petting and ear scratches from the humans and Colin sees her and will ask as well.  She makes him feel safe.  This is why we would like to keep them together.  They both would do best in a home where their humans are home more often.  They become anxious when the humans are gone and need to be in a safe place.  It will take a little time and patience but they will learn quickly and they get much better. 

Kayla is light heartworm positive but is ready to find her forever home under a Provisional Contract.  Diamond Dachshund Rescue covers the expense while under the contract.

Diamond Dachshund Rescue of Texas is a non-profit 501(c)(3) volunteer organization with focus on rescue and adoption of pure breed Dachshunds.  All dogs are fully vetted and housed on private property.  Meetings are scheduled upon adoption approval.  Thank you for your continued support to the rescue and shelter communities!  Opt to Adopt!
