"Hey there! I'm Dougal, a sweet and energetic 4-year-old little guy on the hunt for my forever home. Weighing in at a solid 12 pounds, I've got an underbite that even Popeye would envy and an Elvis swagger that's sure to make you swoon.
I'm getting the hang of this whole kennel thing and will sleep through the night once you convince me it's bedtime. When it comes to potty time, I'm on it! Sofa snuggles? Oh yeah, that's my specialty. I get along great with both big and small dogs, and I go absolutely bonkers for squeaky toys and playing fetch. I love riding in cars. I would make a good travel buddy.

Love dachshunds and not ready to adopt or circumstances won't permit having a dog? How about being a sponsor or making a donation. Every one of our dachshunds receives excellent medical care along with day to day food, love and housing. Being non-profit, we rely on generous individuals like yourselves to help save these fur babies. Diamond Dachshund Rescue of Texas is a non-profit 501(c)(3) volunteer organization with focus on rescue and adoption of pure breed Dachshunds. All dogs are fully vetted and housed on private property. Meetings are scheduled upon adoption approval. Thank you for your continued support to the rescue and shelter communities!
