Hello folks my name is Marie Curie. And I have been in Rescue since I was born and I am a very mature six months old. I was part of Pioneer Puppies and have been with the same foster family since I was a baby.    I have never gotten my very own forever home but foster mom keeps telling me that I’m going to one day. I’ve just recently had a new photo shoot. And you can tell that even though I don’t have short legs and down ears, and they don’t call me a Dachshund...I am a small, dainty, trim and frankly very pretty little girl dog. My mother was a small dog weighing around 20 pounds. My foster mom tells me I’m not going to be any bigger than my mama.

Marie Has learned so much in the last six months. She has become housetrained. She has learned to sleep quietly on her own bed in the bedroom overnight. She can be kenneled easily for errands. She has a sweet nature once she meets and learns she can trust you. She gives sweet kisses and can lay quietly in your lap. Marie rides well in the car snapped in on her own seat. She has been visiting the creek, park playground, the pet store, vet and even went to the local brewery recently. She walks well on a leash and lays and/or sits quietly very near you when you sit to visit with friends.

Marie can be shy at first and has a little fear when out of her comfort zone. Being young and with our social restrictions its been hard for her to become more social. But at home in her environment she is outgoing and loving. She just needs a forever home with patient folks that she can give her heart to. She is good with children. And she loves to chase a ball or a stick outside in her yard. She is very content to spend time outside in the yard.    Marie is hoping someone will fall in love with her soon. She has been black but is now changing colors. She has a beautiful silver white hair coloring along her neck. Marie used to be the ugly duckling but not anymore.  She is truly unique and a one of a kind dog. Please don’t miss out on her!
