Angela AKA "Angie" is a tween sized smooth haired, red piebald dachshund, approximately 2 years old with a temperament as soft as her coat! We are still getting to know her and she may seem reserved at first but she's well mannered and very affectionate once she feels safe and comfortable around you. Angie's personality is as zen as it can be. She's not very interested in toys and prefers a friendly lap where she can relax and give a gentle lick or two from time to time whenever she needs some extra reassurance. She also likes being close to her foster parents at all times. So far she's been ok being an only dog, but seems fine around other calm dogs and does great around older kids as well. She loves car rides and enjoys short walks. She does well on the leash, follows your lead and if you stop to rest she sits and rests as well (pretty sure she'd engage in a conversation if she could!). She also appears to be potty trained and crate trained. Angie is fine with her doggie bed but if she can get away with it, she prefers the big bed at night.
This sweet girl is still waiting for her vet check up for a full examination, to get her vaccines up to date and to check a slight limp/wobble that so far doesn't seem to bother her; she's most likely not been spayed yet. She has had puppies in the past, maybe more than a couple of litters in her short life, but her breeding days are over and soon she'll be ready to enjoy a life of leisure in a secure, happy, loving home. Diamond Dachshund Rescue of Texas is a non-profit 501(c)(3) volunteer organization with focus on rescue and adoption of pure breed Dachshunds.
