Asher is a handsome 3 year old dachshund who is attentive, affectionate and super calm. He came into rescue as a stray and has gotten the basic vet care done: exam, vaccinations, and microchip.

Unfortunately, he is light heartworm positive so he will be starting treatment as soon as he gets neutered and recovers fully from that.

Asher’s temperament is very agreeable. He just arrived at his foster home but he already likes everyone in the family. He seems really fond of kids and seeks out their attention. He does well in the crate and the leash. He does not pull but sometimes you have to remind him to move because he just sits and wants to simply soak up the sun! He’s smart and has a very tranquil personality. Likes to be on the couch, enjoys laps and other dogs. He’s also affectionate with other dogs and even tries to be playful at times. Asher will be taking it easy in foster care for the next few weeks during his medical procedures and treatments.

Asher is not available for adoption just yet. He has to undergo treatment for those nasty heartworms. If you would like to sponsor him during this time, please go to our sponsorship page! Asher would sure appreciate any help you can give DDRTX to help with his care.

Diamond Dachshund Rescue of Texas is a non-profit 501(c)(3) volunteer organization with focus on rescue and adoption of pure breed Dachshunds.
