Dax is a sweet, snuggly, 2 year old curious little boy. He is good with people and dogs. He is a good eater and is not food aggressive. He REALLY enjoys playing with other dogs and would have a lot of fun with another playful young companion. He is not super terrific on a leash...yet, but I think it is because everything is so new to him he wants to see it all and sniff it all. He is good in the crate and sleeps quietly in the crate at night/

He is calm energy. Takes verbal correction well (starts to chew on rug, “No”, he stops; starts to nibble on shoe, “Quit”, he stops). He wants to please. Food/treat is good motivator. Also working on “watch me”, “wait”. Does well going through doors; top dog (me!) goes first, he follows. No charging. He is not food aggressive. He’s pretty easy going. A real joy.

He is GREAT with small children. He also met his first cat and he was curious but remained calm & respectful; he was even relaxed enough to turn his back & change focus when Mr Kitty (who was twice his weight!) did not want to play.
This affectionate, playful boy is a joy!

Diamond Dachshund Rescue of Texas is a non-profit 501(c)(3) volunteer organization with focus on rescue and adoption of pure breed Dachshunds. All dogs are fully vetted and housed on private property. Meetings are scheduled upon adoption approval. Thank you for your continued support to the rescue and shelter communities! Opt to Adopt!
