Aggie is 2 years old weighing in at 19 lbs.

Aggie Red was found wandering stray in a subdivision along a walking path. A Good Samaritan said he was looking for a friend and seemed to like her dog.

Aggie has been very slow to show his best attributes because he has had some fear and anxiety but that is much better now. Aggie needed some stability, a safe and trusting home, to be neutered to stop his desire to wander, and some gentle, disciplinarian consistency.

Aggie loves attention. He can be a little clingy but each day that is getting better. Aggie tends to bond with the main caregiver, and is slow to warm up to strangers. However, he is beginning to show a more comfortable attitude and is becoming trusting and more involved with the activities of the immediate foster family and the extended family, to include even the 10-year-old dog savvy, foster family member. Aggie loves his foster dog siblings. Aggie has not shown any food aggression at all.

Aggie’s anxiety around the house, has given way to a love of chasing squirrels.
He sleeps all night quietly in his kennel, as well as behaving nicely during the day when the family needs to run errands. He also can lay quietly in a bed on the floor in the evening during family time.

Aggie has learned to love being in the family’s lap, but has also learned to accept “no” when it is not desired. He has shown an interest in playing with toys. He’s a mannerly eater and he does potty outside.

Aggie Red is incredibly handsome showing beautiful pure bred qualities and prances when he walks and runs. He has a beautiful kind countenance to those he has learned to trust. A SOLID fenced play area will be needed, as he is solidly built, and very physically active. Older dog savvy children highly recommended.

Successful adoptors for Aggie Red will need to follow closely the steps the foster family has already taken to reassure him. Consistency will be very important. He needs adopters that are willing to accept him where he is and be slow and methodical in meeting him to build confidence and trust. Experienced dog owners would be a plus for Aggie, but not required, We believe his fear issues are fading, but he still needs experience in meeting strangers in a slow, methodical and loving way. If you believe you’re up to the challenge and desire to take Aggie, the rest of the way, he needs you!
We believe he can be a very successful and loving family addition.
