Zoey Star is a 10 year old red female dachshund.  Sadly, she and her siblings lost their human and found themselves needing rescue help.  Zoey is doing great.  She loves to lay around the house.  She loves doggie beds and uses them all.  She is very calm and only barks if there is another dog in the house.  Zoey loves to be petted and loved on by adults. She doesn't like small children because she was picked on for a long time by a neighbor kid throwing rocks at her all the time.  She is also touchy with some dogs.  She did come from a home with 2 other dogs but she might do best with older humans all to herself.  Zoey doesn't ask to go out to potty but if you remind her regularly to go out, she does great with that.  She isn't really one that likes to go on walks.  Not a toy girl either.  She is a very sweet, calm kinda girl. Zoey has cushings and will need to stay on her meds the rest of her life.  She just had a dental and she is now ready for adoption.

Diamond Dachshund Rescue of Texas is a non-profit 501(c)(3) volunteer organization with focus on rescue and adoption of pure breed Dachshunds.  All dogs are fully vetted and housed on private property.  Meetings are scheduled upon adoption approval.  Thank you for your continued support to the rescue and shelter communities!  Opt to Adopt!
