Ebony Snow is approximately a 13 month old black and tan Dachshund female weighing 9 lbs. Still quite young her rescue story began several weeks ago in Deep South Texas. Not much is known about her past other than she was found as a stray. The shelter determined she had an injured right hind leg. She came to Diamond Dachshund Rescue of Texas with a transport help volunteer from her location down south.

A veterinarian evaluation determined that the leg was broken in three places. Prior to the holiday season the prognosis was casting and crate rest until she could be seen by a specialty vet for evaluation of possible surgery.  When she was finally able to be seen by the specialty veterinarian, and the leg, x-rayed again, it was determined that, miraculously her leg was fully healed.  Due to the fact that she was young and received proper temporary vet care and crate rest at her foster home Ebony was able to heal on her own with a little extra help from Santa and his elves.

Currently, Ebony is re-learning how to use the injured leg and regain strength to healing completely. She is beginning her supervised playtime with her foster siblings to rehab. She will be on sponsorship until she regains her strength and can be spayed.  If you would like to donate to her vet expenses, it would be extremely helpful.

Her foster reports that she has an undiminished spirit to live a bright, lively, and extremely active future.

Ebony has been quiet and well behaved during her crate care. Very few accidents as she learned to be carried out and allowed a potty break and come back in to the crate.

Her foster siblings have enjoyed careful socializing during lap times. The foster siblings seem to know that they need to be careful of her and they can’t wait to run and play together.

Ebony is not available for adoption just yet.  As explained above, she needs some more healing time and will still need to be spayed.  If you would like to sponsor her during this time, please go to the sponsorship page and click on her name.
