Butters Bean is a 3 year old chocolate dachshund and weighs 11 pounds.  He was found in a ditch by a good samaritan.  Since she could not locate an owner and no chip or collar, they reached out for our help.  We are told that he is a nice dog.  He went straight to our vet and is now in a foster home.  We will update you more soon as his foster home learns more about him.

Butters did come into rescue with an injury.  Turns out he has a broken leg and hip injury. He may have been hit by a car and then fell into the ditch, but no one know for sure.  The injury is actually 4 weeks old, so he is already starting to heal.  Our vet feels he just needs a few more weeks to fully heal and then he will be ready for adoption.  He has had all his vaccinations and neuter done.  He is heartworm negative.

Diamond Dachshund Rescue of Texas is a non-profit 501(c)(3) volunteer organization with focus on rescue and adoption of pure breed Dachshunds.  All dogs are fully vetted and housed on private property.  Meetings are scheduled upon adoption approval.  Thank you for your continued support to the rescue and shelter communities!  Opt to Adopt!
