Meet Otis Abe.  He is an 8 year old dachshund.  He weighs 17 pounds.  He and his brother, Miles North are new to our rescue.  They were seen being dumped in a store parking lot.  The founder kept them safe until they found help for them.  Both boys are lovable, sweet and play well with other dogs and kids. They do not need to stay together but if you are looking for a pair of older dogs that are good together, then look no further than Miles and Otis. 

Otis went to our vet and got an exam. vaccinations and heartworm test done (negative).  

Otis and Miles are in separate foster homes and are adjusting well.  Otis is living with a senior female dog and they have no problems getting along.  Otis has done well using a doggie door to take care of business with just a couple accidents.  He is sleeping all night in a crate.  His favorite spots are in your lap or lying in the sunshine.  He has a sweet disposition and just needs a little more training with his manners when people are having their food, which he thinks they are required to share with him.

Diamond Dachshund Rescue of Texas is a non-profit 501(c)(3) volunteer organization with focus on rescue and adoption of pure breed Dachshunds.  All dogs are fully vetted and housed on private property.  Meetings are scheduled upon adoption approval.  Thank you for your continued support to the rescue and shelter communities!  Opt to Adopt!
