Meet Louie: Your Ultimate Cuddle Companion!

At 8.5 years young and 15 pounds of pure love, Louie is a dappled Dachshund with a heart as big as his devotion. This sweet boy is the ultimate Velcro dog—wherever you go, he follows! Whether you’re getting up from the couch or heading to bed, Louie will be right by your side, ready to snuggle.

He gets along beautifully with other dogs and has been a perfect gentleman in the house—no accidents, no mischief, just lots of love. He appears to be dog-door potty trained and has no trouble running, jumping, or exploring (though his favorite activity is definitely cuddling). He’s a quiet little guy who hasn’t shown much interest in barking, even when his foster siblings sound the alarm outside.

Louie hasn’t reacted to seeing or hearing a cat through a window, and while he may not be the most playful pup, he did pick up a toy once—so who knows, maybe he’s got a playful side waiting to shine!

Diamond Dachshund Rescue of Texas is a non-profit 501(c)(3) volunteer organization with focus on rescue and adoption of pure breed Dachshunds.  All dogs are fully vetted and housed on private property.  Meetings are scheduled upon adoption approval.  Thank you for your continued support to the rescue and shelter communities!  Opt to Adopt!
