About Gus

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Dog
  • Ear Type: Natural/Uncropped
Gus - This boy has truly come a long way since he entered rescue. Once a frantic, anxiety ridden boy, to a wonderful, happy little fat-man who LOVES his toys, squeaky's, people, and playing with older kids. Gus is a small standard boy, weighing in at 17 pounds of chunkiness! He is very strong and sturdy - very muscular. He is almost six years old and healthy as a little horsy. Gus will need a home who will be understanding of the neglect he's suffered, and work with him on his anxiety issues. Gus has worked hard to overcome some pretty severe anxiety problems and he's done wonderfully. He'd love to have at least one of his family members home most of the day to spend quality time with him as he's a little emotionally needy. Gus needs a happy home willing to help rebuild his confidence and to let him know that he won't ever be abused, neglected or beaten again. He hates crates and can never be put in a crate - ever. He is doggie door trained and loves the freedom to go in and out to romp in the yard with his toys, lay in the sun and he adores having his belly rubbed. I swear, this little man wakes up happy and goes to sleep happy, he adores his squeaky toys and walks around with one in his mouth almost all the time! If you are looking for a dog who's had a less than happy life and you feel you can help him regain his confidence, happiness and reduce his anxiety, please contact me to meet him. Update 12/17/04 A wonderful man had adopted Gus and he was having the time of his life! A tragic accident took Gus' life today and he was swiftly carried over the rainbow bridge. "All creatures great and small, They are Gods, one and all". Sleep in peace sweet prince, you will be missed. jab
