About Dexter

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Dog
  • Ear Type: Natural/Uncropped
Ariana & Dexter - New to rescue, these two adorable kids need to be treated for dmod tic mange (this is not contagious, it is hereditary and they were born with it). They were born on February 7th, 2004 so they are about six months of age. Both are red short haired miniatures. I will update more on these two pups as they progress and will advise when they are ready to consider potential homes. UPDATE 09/08/04 - These two kids are doing wonderfully with their demodex treatment and we expect photos to come soon showing how well recovered they are! They will be ready for adoption very very soon! Update 3/8/05 Family came forward and took our little Dexter with all his quirks and fears to call their own. Update 10/11/04: Due to their extreme fear of human contact, these kids will be sent to individual foster homes for intensive socialization so we can work with them to become loving pets that we know they can be! Update 11/20/04: Dexter is ready for a home! He is still skittish of loud noises, so he needs a home that is relatively quiet w/out a lot of folks coming and going. He is fine with cats and other dogs. Still working on his housetraining, but for a pup, he's doing very well! Dexter does NOT like crates, so the best home for him will be someone who can take him outside to potty frequently, and not crate him. Texas adoption or foster applications only please.
