Dominick - This thin little red short haired cutie pie is absolutely adorable - he came to us from Southern Louisiana where he contracted heartworms from all the mosquitoes that have infested the area after the hurricanes. He will be fully vetted prior to adoption and after his heartworm treatment. Dominick is about 18 months to 2 years old, knows a doggie door and is quickly making up for lost time in the attention and giving kisses arena! What a wonderful little bitty boy he is - weighs only about 8 to 9 pounds! Watch for his update as to when he'll be available and finished w/ his heartworm treatment! update 4/26/06 Dominick - what a joyous happy spirit this fellow has! He is now neutered and starts his heartworm treatment next week, so give us at least 30 days and he'll be ready to consider for adoption. He is a very low positive test for heartworms, so he should have absolutely no side effects! Dominick - this boy had a sad story, from the hurricane ravaged areas of Louisiana, there is no telling what all this little young boy could tell us that he's seen. He came in all sick and skinny to us at DDRTX. He was fixed up, made healthy and went to a young man who saw his photo and just knew that Dominick was "his" soulmate. This little red boy has more soul, love and personality in one little long body than most people do. He and his new doxie dad live in San Antonio and are happily ever after!

Diamond Dachshund Rescue of Texas is a non-profit 501(c)(3) volunteer organization with focus on rescue and adoption of pure breed Dachshunds.  All dogs are fully vetted and housed on private property.  Meetings are scheduled upon adoption approval.  Thank you for your continued support to the rescue and shelter communities!  Opt to Adopt!
