Skittles is a tiny little 10 week old adorable puppy girl, born May 7th, 2006. She won't be ready to go anywhere for a while yet till she's spayed and we get her taken to a doggie ophthalmologist. Skittles is a blind double dapple with small ocular sockets, one eye appears to be missing completely and the other may be sight impaired due to third eyelid. This is sadly common with recessively genetic double dapple dachshunds. We will know more after her eye appointment in San Antonio and will update on her status. Obviously, adopting a special needs blind dachshund can be a challenge - she will need a safe home with another caring dog to be her vision and guide her. She does not know she's handicapped and is the sweetest little monkey you ever saw. A typical busy, active, playful and kissy pup that is as cute as cute can be.

Diamond Dachshund Rescue of Texas is a non-profit 501(c)(3) volunteer organization with focus on rescue and adoption of pure breed Dachshunds.  All dogs are fully vetted and housed on private property.  Meetings are scheduled upon adoption approval.  Thank you for your continued support to the rescue and shelter communities!  Opt to Adopt!
