6.2.08 Gordon - Black and tan small standard short haired male dachshund with personality plus great temperament! He came to us from the animal control facility where he was found as a stray. He's a bigger boy, large tweenie or small standard at 15-16 pounds, he's only 16-18 months old. He is currently heartworm positive and we will begin his treatment, so watch for updates on this handsome fella as we come to get to know one another. 06.19.08 update: Gordon has heartworms and has started the treatment. it will be at least a month, maybe two, before he's ready for adoption. This big fella is such a happy boy and exhuberant, he'll like a home w/ older kids to play with. 7.10.08 Gordon update His heartworm treatment is going very well so far, with no complications or problems at all. This happy, playful boy would love a home with older kids to play with, a yard, and hed be in pure heaven if it was with someone that was home all day to just spend time with! 9.25.08 Gordon update: Gordy is such a fun loving, sturdy, playful little fella that I just can't wait for him to meet his new family! He's really good w/ older kids and loves to de-squeak his toys - he even eagerly brings them to you for playtime with a look of pure joy on his face that someone will play with him! Diamond Dachshund Rescue of Texas is a non-profit 501(c)(3) volunteer organization with focus on rescue and adoption of pure breed Dachshunds.  All dogs are fully vetted and housed on private property.  Meetings are scheduled upon adoption approval.  Thank you for your continued support to the rescue and shelter communities!  Opt to Adopt!
