1.16.09 Jerry, Abby, Fay and Ginger -- more to come on these dachshunds soon. They are the only four surviving dogs from a really bad situation. 9 others were not so lucky. Jerry is a red long hair, Abby is an older red short hair with almost no teeth (her tongue hangs out, so cute!), Fay is a black and tan long hair, and Ginger is a dark red shy girl. All are spayed/neutered, current on shots, three of the four have heartworms and have started their treatment. I'll update more on ages, weights and personalities as more information is available. They do not need to all go to the same home and will be adopted out separately. Let us know if you might be interested in offering these dogs a cushy retirement with all the love and warmth that they've been lacking in their lives. UPDATE 2.18.09 Ginger is now GENEVIEVE. Isn't that a dainty name? Genevieve is a sweet and sassy little gal! She has dark red fur and is very feminine. After spending her formative years in a crate at a puppymill, Genevieve has really blossomed in rescue. While she is still a little reserved, Genevieve really enjoys family time. She likes other dogs and ignores the cats. She loves kisses and lap time, but hasn't yet figured out toys. She loves to sleep in the big bed and has perfect house manners. Genevieve is a delight. She would be a good first dog for a new dog owner or a good low maintenance apartment dog. She enjoys outdoor time when spent with her family relaxing and playing in the yard. Because Genevieve had such a rough start in life, she is looking to spend the rest of her days in the arms of loving parents and relaxing in luxury. Update: Genevieve (fka Ginger I) Genevieve is a delightful little 6 and a half year old red short haired lady! She's fully vetted and doing extremely well with her heartworm treatment. She should be ready to interview new homes at the end of March. Genevieve is a sweet and sassy little gal! She has dark red fur and is very feminine.
