2.09.09 Madison, whom we call Maddie, is a pretty small standard black and tan piebald short haired southern belle who will turn four years old in March. She's in good health, and is definitely an "inside girl" as she only goes outdoors to take care of business and then quickly returns through the dog door to the nearest comfy spot. She's new to rescue so is understandably aloof at the moment, but gets excited when her foster mom comes home or she hears the treat bag open, then her little independent nature kicks in, and hops right back into her spot. She seems to prefer a calm, quiet life, so we'd like a home with no small kids or cats, other dogs are ok, as long as they pretty much leave her alone. Good w/ doggie door and easy to have around the house. Her vet appointment is this week, so I'll have a little more information about her weight and health status soon! Watch for her update! Diamond Dachshund Rescue of Texas is a non-profit 501(c)(3) volunteer organization with focus on rescue and adoption of pure breed Dachshunds.  All dogs are fully vetted and housed on private property.  Meetings are scheduled upon adoption approval.  Thank you for your continued support to the rescue and shelter communities!  Opt to Adopt!
