I came from very humble beginnings and was given a special name.  Austin is of English origin and means "Revered or Exalted."  My past holds secrets and I was rescued as a part of an animal cruelty seizure case.  My name suits me well for, in rescue, I found out what that feels like to be admired and respected.  I'm a debonair, handsome, smooth coated, black and tan cutie pie.  I'm about 8 years young and have a very outgoing personality for a puppy mill dog.  I didn't have proper nutrition or care and my teeth were decayed.  I had to have them removed and some holes fixed that went up into my nasal passages.  It was very expensive and any donation you give toward my dental bill would be appreciated.  I think I'm special because I’m the ONLY ONE who gets canned food!  I love attention and spending time in your lap.  I'll sleep in your Big Bed nicely and like to cuddle up in blankets.  Other dogs are great, especially the ladies!  Cats and older children are okay too.  After all, what damage can I possibly do with no teeth?  Now I'm NOT old, I'm pleasantly middle aged.  I'm NOT handicapped, I'm special and eat canned food.  I'll smother you with kisses and greet you happily when you come home. Diamond Dachshund Rescue of Texas is a non-profit 501(c)(3) volunteer organization with focus on rescue and adoption of pure breed Dachshunds.  All dogs are fully vetted and housed on private property.  Meetings are scheduled upon adoption approval.  Thank you for your continued support to the rescue and shelter communities!  Opt to Adopt!
