8.26.09 Rocky V - is a stocky,handsome standard black and tan boy, he's a pretty typical doxie, weighs in at 20 pounds. Loves to play with balls and toys in general. He doesn't want to give things back, though. He'd rather go hide them somewhere. He'd love to sleep in bed with you and generally just be beside you all day long. He goes to his crate willingly, and won't fuss if he's in the room with you. BEWARE of letting him see the leash unless you're prepared to stick it on him and go for a walk! He is a climber deluxe and will actually climb a chair and get his own leash. He came to me the other day with 2 extra collars wrapped around his head that he'd gotten from the collar / leash box. Rocky V is great with other dogs and fine with cats. He'll bark if they're running and playing but otherwise shows them little attention. He will definitely raise a ruckus if someone knocks on the door or he hears people outside the fence, etc. He does not like quick movements and will snap if scared, so a home with older children or no children would be recommended. He'll be fully vetted prior to placement in a new home. If you love the standard, loyal, happily hard headed, protective and vigilant dachshunds, you'll be in heaven with this fella! Diamond Dachshund Rescue of Texas is a non-profit 501(c)(3) volunteer organization with focus on rescue and adoption of pure breed Dachshunds.  All dogs are fully vetted and housed on private property.  Meetings are scheduled upon adoption approval.  Thank you for your continued support to the rescue and shelter communities!  Opt to Adopt!
