I came back to rescue after the death of my owner and am eager to give this forever home another try.  My laid back, passive personality means I can be sensitive to quick gestures and noises. But when it comes to ridding your yard of squirells - well, that I am a pro! A home without cats would be the best thing but I wouldn't mind one other dog to keep company with. My housemanners are top notch and I'll even go to the door to let you know when its time for me to be outside.  I love to go on car rides and intently watch out the window as the big world zooms by.  I don't mind my crate and sleep there nicely during the night. Ear and belly rubs are much appreciated, but there are also times when I'm best contented just spending some time alone.  I like to find a favorite resting place in the house and will just hang out there until someone comes to find me or I decide its time to go outside.  When I really want some love from my family I'll make sure they know, but I don't often take much time to satisfy that need and will quickly go back off to my resting place.  Please know that just because I don't often ask for attention, I really enjoy and need that special time and I would love a family that makes that a priority for me.  Sometimes, I just need reminded that I'm loved!  I would do best in a peaceful, quiet home where I can learn to be comfortable and secure. Since I'm really just mellow and quiet girl, you may need to remind and encourage me to eat my meals.  But, with a "good girl" and some ear rubs, I'll learn its ok to feel secure and eat my meals well.  I'm ready to be the princess of my new home!  Is your castle ready for me?

Diamond Dachshund Rescue of Texas is a non-profit 501(c)(3) volunteer organization with focus on rescue and adoption of pure breed Dachshunds.  All dogs are fully vetted and housed on private property.  Meetings are scheduled upon adoption approval.  Thank you for your continued support to the rescue and shelter communities!  Opt to Adopt!
