Daisy Duke is a 5-6 year old red female Chi-Weenie (female) that was surrendered to the shelter because her owner had cancer. She is scared and taking a little longer to trust, but each day we see progress. When she feels left out, she will talk to you and let you know about it! Sometimes she will even sit up and beg for you to pet her! When she warms up to you, she loves to snuggle in close and will give you incredibly sweet, gentle kisses. She is learning how to be around other dogs and seems to like people and teenagers at her own speed. When she decides she likes you, she will come wagging her tail and let you know! She is housebroken and learning the doggie door and is kennel trained. She is taking all that has happened to her a bit hard, and will just need time to see that everything is going to be ok. She needs to know that she will be cared for and loved. She is spayed, heartworm negative, microchipped and up to date on shots. Daisy Duke is ready for that special home that will show her all the love she so longingly desires!  Placed in a home 10.24.10

Diamond Dachshund Rescue of Texas is a non-profit 501(c)(3) volunteer organization with focus on rescue and adoption of pure breed Dachshunds.  All dogs are fully vetted and housed on private property.  Meetings are scheduled upon adoption approval.  Thank you for your continued support to the rescue and shelter communities!  Opt to Adopt!
