I was already rescued once and found a home I thought would be mine forever! My family moved far away from Texas and things seemed pretty good! Well, for some reason my family left me at a shelter in St. Louis and walked away. Lucky for me, my microchip alerted the shelter that I was a Diamond Dachshund! Rescuer's were quick to respond and I was whisked back to Texas and safely delivered to a new foster home! I'm a darling little girl, about 5 1/2 years old, with great house manners and the most striking eyes! They kind of look like a tiger eye gemstone! I love other dogs and enjoy loving attention from people! I'm hoping for a real chance at a forever family! Just look at my smiling face! I'm so happy to be rescued again and have a chance to come home and live with you!
1.14.10 Dinah is very very scared! the loud noise of the kennel and other dogs frightens her. So if you are a single person who lives quietly she'd be the best dog for your home! Dinah is a pretty tiny little chocolate lady who was born in September of 2005 so she's four years and four months old as of January. Once she gets to know you, just try to keep her out of your lap! Very small and only weighs like 7 pounds. Dinah tested positive for heartworms so will be starting a long slow treatment to avoid any adverse effects of the treatment. Otherwise she's healthy spayed, current on shots, chipped, and fecal negative. So give us a couple months to treat her heartworms and she'll be ready to meet a new potential home in about mid to late March! 3.25.10 Update Dinah!! LUV her! Girlfriend dog loves to eat, so I gotta put her on a diet soon as she's completed her heartworm treatment! Pretty chocolate girl who came in very scared and timid, but now she jumps all over me, in my lap, on my legs, and wants me to carry her! The picture of her is cute, but she looks very scared and was - she'[s much better now!! She started her heartworm treatment and will be done with that after April 10. 4.30.10 Dinah has finished her heartworm treatment and is just dandy now. Ready for adoption as soon as you complete an adoption application! Please fill one out soon for her. Texas adoptions only. Please visit our website www.ddrtx.org soon and complete an adoption application.
