I came to rescue after my person passed away. Kindly, their insurance agent took me in and had the vet make sure I was healthy then he contacted DDRTX to see if they could help. I was really scared of all the changes at first, but soon found myself coming out of my shell! I'm 3-4 years old, about 14 pounds with a striking mahogany colored short coat. My new foster home gave me some toys to play with and I soon discovered what a joy it is to romp and roll!  In fact, I love to play so much you might just think your arm will fall off before we are done! I love some affectionate petting, but I'm not very clingy and not much for taking up lap space.  I wouldn't mind having older children to play with and I really adore gentleman human's attention! I love to ride in the car and can get a bit nervous if left home alone. I've even met a cat and, after a short "get to know you" period, have decided they are ok to hang around with too! I'm a fun, energetic girl and just smart as a whip! I listen well and need a home that helps me get my energy out! I'm ready to bring my good house manners to your home and keep you entertained with my playful antics! So, toss me a ball and let's go!

Diamond Dachshund Rescue of Texas is a non-profit 501(c)(3) volunteer organization with focus on rescue and adoption of pure breed Dachshunds.  All dogs are fully vetted and housed on private property.  Meetings are scheduled upon adoption approval.  Thank you for your continued support to the rescue and shelter communities!  Opt to Adopt!
