I am back into rescue due to no fault of my own.  I was very much loved and cared for however, my mom passed away and my dad's health is deteriorating to where he couldn't care for me.  While I miss them it's okay as I'm back in my original foster mom's home and continuing to get the love and care I know. 

If you are looking for the elegant and reserved type- I am your lady ! My Foster Mom says I should be wearing pearls, as I remind her of Audrey Hepburn.  I am very quiet and thoughtful, never loud or boisterous. I don’t even bark when the doorbell rings!! (I am a rare Dachshund lady indeed!) The only noise I make is when I let my Foster family know I need to go outside, did I mention I am completely potty trained?  I am perfectly happy just quietly watching all the activities that go on in my foster home. I enjoy car rides, I don’t really play with toys- but I can snuggle into my doggie bed and chew on a bone for hours. I truly enjoy being outside in the glorious sunshine and I help my foster mom work in the garden. I enjoy exploring the back yard very much. I tolerate baths very well, a lady has to be always looking her best!  I have not met anyone I didn’t like, small children make me a little nervous but I do love the bigger ones. I have never shown any signs of aggression, even over that much desired chewie.  I am looking for my very own home with someone who can appreciate my elegance. I tend to spend a lot of time reflecting on the world around me, but don’t let it fool you, I don’t miss anything and just can’t wait to find my forever family!  I hope you give me a chance to be part of your family, I promise to bring many years of happiness and love to your home !

Diamond Dachshund Rescue of Texas is a non-profit 501(c)(3) volunteer organization with focus on rescue and adoption of pure breed Dachshunds.  All dogs are fully vetted and housed on private property.  Meetings are scheduled upon adoption approval.  Thank you for your continued support to the rescue and shelter communities!  Opt to Adopt!
