Hi, I'm a young, petite 6.4 lb wheaton wire-haired.  I love to be held and give kisses.  I'm very playful so I would like very much to have a playmate to wrestle, run and play with in the backyard.  I also like to go for walks.  I'm crate trained (although I don't like to be in it) and know how to use the doggie door.  I'd prefer to be in a larger area with a baby gate however, I am small so if you don't get just the right one I can squeeze out for free run of the house.  I 'm a good girl when I get a bath and my teeth brushed.  I can be a bit vocal when I want your attention or if I can't see you.  If you're firm with me and tell me "no" or "quiet" I listen. I have a sensitive stomach so I will need a food that is gentle on my little tummy.  I seem to be producing a lot of acid so I've been taking an over the counter antacid prior to eating.  It doesn't affect the way I play, cuddle or give kisses.

Diamond Dachshund Rescue of Texas is a non-profit 501(c)(3) volunteer organization with focus on rescue and adoption of pure breed Dachshunds.  All dogs are fully vetted and housed on private property.  Meetings are scheduled upon adoption approval.  Thank you for your continued support to the rescue and shelter communities!  Opt to Adopt!
