Hi, I'm a little red longhair male.  I don't mean to brag but I'm a perfectly wonderful dog!  I'm very gentle, calm and lap loving.  I'm fine with the other dogs and am just now learning how to run and play with them. I use the doggie door or potty pads.  I'm good at walking on the leash but since it's new I stop often to listen to all the different sounds or look at the things (people, cars, etc) that go by.  I like to get your attention by putting my paws on your leg while you're sitting so I can be held in your lap.  I'm a little on the submissive/timid side, so a calm, quiet, loving home will suit this me perfectly.  I do bark at cats, but don’t have that hunting drive of most dachshunds. I'm good in the crate, or gated area, if I know you're nearby but can be a little vocal if you leave me.  It's just because I want to be near you.  I’d say I'm good w/ older kids, other dogs, and someone with a gentle, loving touch.

Diamond Dachshund Rescue of Texas is a non-profit 501(c)(3) volunteer organization with focus on rescue and adoption of pure breed Dachshunds.  All dogs are fully vetted and housed on private property.  Meetings are scheduled upon adoption approval.  Thank you for your continued support to the rescue and shelter communities!  Opt to Adopt!
