I am a star, burning brightly, and ready to warm your heart. My name is Nova and I am a young, black and tan, long haired girl. Diamond Dachshund Rescue pull me from a shelter and I was heartworm positive but have been treated and am available for adoption.

Let me tell you a little about myself. My foster family says I am very sweet and calm-- I just love belly rubs and cuddling. I adore sleeping on soft furniture and will happily join you there to watch tv! I've been very good about my house training and I am quickly getting used to being in a crate, as well. I don't bark very often, and when I do, I tend to bark softly. While I am adjusting, I know how to hide to keep myself safe if I feel overwhelmed. You know what else I know? I know how run out the door! I just want to know what is out there so I can't help myself and I run out! I definitely need my new family to understand that I am a little bit of a "flight risk". That said, even when I run out, I don't really want to run away-- I just want to check stuff out. Daily walks might be a good choice for a girl like me!  I don't like girl dogs and sometimes not all boy dogs either, depends on their personality. Perhaps a larger dog that I can't dominate might work or even better I would love being an only dog.  I am great with humans, submissive even!
