Newton is a 7 year old miniature dachshund rescue looking for his perfect family and forever home! He is as spunky as a young'n and loves to play with the tennis ball! Newton is neutered, housebroken, microchipped, vaccinated, and great with other dogs! He’s 7.8 lbs currently, hoping for him to gain a pound, but he is the definition of miniature! He loves to sleep in bed with you, lay on the couch and cuddle, or sit in your lap curled up while you relax. He walks well on a leash and knows sit on command. He is the perfect addition to a family who needs a pack leader! His favorite activities include going to the dog park, rolling around in the grass, taking long walks, playing ball, and cuddling! Newton has recently been diagnosed with Cushings disease and requires daily medication.  Don't let that stop you from considering adopting this sweet gentleman.  

He is heartworm negative however, he will need to be retested in 6 months.

Diamond Dachshund Rescue of Texas is a non-profit 501(c)(3) volunteer organization with focus on rescue and adoption of pure breed Dachshunds.  All dogs are fully vetted and housed on private property.  Meetings are scheduled upon adoption approval.  Thank you for your continued support to the rescue and shelter communities!  Opt to Adopt!
