Happy Tails to Daniel (nka Murphy)
Way to go little man! You have your very own playmate! We are so very happy for you - your new family has decided to name you Murphy, which means "The best dog you'll ever meet. A Murphy is often overlooked. But simply put, he is a king among dogs. He will gladly give you the toy out of his mouth and ask for nothing in return. He is a lover and not a fighter. He'll defend what is right and your honor. A kindred spirit. Ridiculously good looking. Kind hearted." Wow, Murphy, you are all of these things and you have hit the jack pot of homes. Congratulations to you all and may you all have many happy years together.

Happy Tails: Montana
Miss Montana a.k.a. Hannah Montana the big Banana came into our lives early in 2018. She was the first standard dachshund that we had fostered and we absolutely fell in love with her. Although she was heartworm positive and had recently been spayed, she made herself right at home. And at no point did she ever give us any trouble while going through treatment. Just like her size, a whopping 44 pounds, her heart is huge! She is definitely a lover. She’d like to think she’s the same size as the other wiener dogs (around 15#) and to this day she believes that she is a lapdog. Whether it is bathtime or naptime, Montana is right by our side. She’s not sure what to think of this Texas heat, but she has found a nice place to sunbathe on the back patio early in the day. We are ecstatic that this girl has come into our lives!!
Happy Tails to Lenny & Curly Sue
Lenny met a girl named Curly Sue that would change his life forever! Her laid-back, easy-going gentle behavior set the example for Lenny and helped him with some of his emotional anxiety. Their Foster Mom Sue Long, showered them both with love and kindness. A family had been longing to adopt Lenny for a long time but had to wait until he was ready – both medically and emotionally. During one of the family meet-and-greets, Lenny and Curly Sue were visited by many people, being held, petted, gently passed around and loved on. They both loved it and handled the meeting well because the family was kind and reassuring. Two weeks later, the family returned with their own two rescued dachshund and it was heartwarming and a fun-for-all to see them all interacting together in the backyard. The family that had been patiently waiting and loved Lenny for so long, had now fallen in love with Curly Sue! Lenny would go to his new forever home with a friend at his side and TWO dachshunds got their forever home together. What an amazing happy tail - two tails for everyone!
