Say Hello to Abigail Grace!  This beautiful girl is a bit of a miracle child.  She came to us from Animal Control paralyzed in her hind end and unable to walk.  After visiting with several vets and therapists, it was said that it would be very unlikely she would walk again.

She got lots of exercise in a wheelchair to prepare her for a wonderful wheeled future. Foster mom made sure to provide extra therapy for her back legs, just to give Abigail the best chance possible. And, much to everyone's surprise,  Abigail began to use her back legs. She grew stronger and stronger every day.  So we did what we could to help, and we started her therapy. After several weeks of laser therapy, accupuncture,  and water treadmill exercise, she was walking again!

While she may never regain full strength and use of her legs, Abigail gets around just fine now.  She stands for dinner, walks around the house, uses the dog door and ramp, and even plays fetch!  She tries very hard every day to keep up physically with her furry foster sisters and brother, and usually succeeds.

She still has a special way of walking, and occasionally her legs slide right out from under her. She wears a diaper around the house because her bladder is a little weak, and sometimes she has accidents. But she doesn't let these things stop her from being a healthy,  happy girl.

Abigail would do wonderful in a home that is prepared to treat her as the special princess she is. She is a very high energy girl who absolutely loves toys, fetch, and "deading" all stuffed animals. She isn't a lap dog, and only submits to cuddles when she is dead tired. But she gives the sweetest kisses, and provides absolute joy to everyone she meets.
