Hello there. My call sign is Iceman, but everyone calls me Maverick, and I'm a fighter pilot at Top Gun! I'm totally cute and I'm top of my class! At only 3 months old, our whole litter is pretty little, all around 6.5lbs. Personally, I'm the calmest and most observant.

I've got short, tan fur, and I enjoy playing with other friendly dogs and fun toys. I'm still pretty new to rescue, so my foster family doesn't know me really well just yet, but I'm gentle and sweet so far, good with potty pads, quiet in the car, I listen when other dogs tell me "no", and I'm a bit shy. I need a little time to warm up to people but I'm working on that. I like to watch my foster family walk around the house while I evaluate their flight patterns and efficiency. I'd be happiest in a quieter home with someone to play with... a dog, cat, bird, probably not a kid unless they are much older and very gentle.  I like to play with toys and tug of war.  I like to play with other dogs, big or little.  I like to run in the yard and dig little holes.  I want to be held and have my belly rubbed. Are you my new RIO?

Diamond Dachshund Rescue of Texas is a non-profit 501(c)(3) volunteer organization with focus on rescue and adoption of pure breed Dachshunds.  All dogs are fully vetted and housed on private property.  Meetings are scheduled upon adoption approval.  Thank you for your continued support to the rescue and shelter communities!  Opt to Adopt!
