My name is Nikki and I have come back into rescue since my elderly family could no longer keep me. I miss them, but  I understand.  I am a long-legged black tweenie female with a lot of life left to give. I’m not shy and will run around your neighborhood looking for new friends if you don’t keep the fence closed.  I would do wonderful with a small family, hopefully with a yard, and the simple things like walks and chasing squirrels.  I do not like cats, really big dogs, or very young children.  While I am sweet in general, I need my owners to give me time to get use to the rules and other dogs.  Honestly, I would probably be happiest if I had my own person all to myself but I could accept another dog if given a little time. I know about going potty outside, but I just need to have the behavior reinforced.  Are you looking for a friend to spend your days with? Let me be that friend and you won't regret it!

Diamond Dachshund Rescue of Texas is a non-profit 501(c)(3) volunteer organization with focus on rescue and adoption of pure breed Dachshunds.  All dogs are fully vetted and housed on private property.  Meetings are scheduled upon adoption approval.  Thank you for your continued support to the rescue and shelter communities!  Opt to Adopt!
