Miley aka Smiley M

Smiley Miley is the cutest, sweetest little mini chocolate short haired girl ever! She came to us from the Houston animal cruelty siezure as well, and I was thrilled that she's a rare "smiling" dachshund! Very few smilers come through rescue and we all just love it when they smile at us! that's not a snarl, not a growl, she does that when she's happy!! Pretty Miley is only about 2 or 3 years of age, and guess what... yeah... darn it she's pregnant and wayyy too far along for us to spay her, as she is due in 7 to 14 days! yikes! when taken into the shelter from the siezure, she only weighed 5 pounds, so she's a tiny little girl. She will be fully vetted prior to placement, which means after her pups are weaned and she's healthy. No heartworms and she's got shots, treated for parasites and will be microchipped as well as spayed before she gets adopted. Will update her bio when she graces us with the presence of her youngsters. UPDATE: Smiley Miley had her babies!!! I don't know about her, but I'm exhausted! LOL!! three boys and a girl all very colorful. One is having to be bottle fed every two hours (hence the exhausted foster mom!). Precious little Miley will be busy with her kids for at least another 8 weeks, then we'll get her spayed and she can meet you! Will post updates about her puppies, but please know that we cannot and will not adopt out puppies until they are spayed/neutered and had all three sets of puppy shots. We will however, allow a potential adoptive home to foster the pup after it's had all its shots, until it's old enough to be sterilized, then we'd formally adopt and transfer ownership. We call that "puppy provisions". UPDATE: Miley will be ready to try out a new home after the 17th!!! Her boys will have their full set of puppy shots in another 3 weeks and we'll get them posted on the website shortly thereafter!

Braden

Our precious longhaired brindle boy named Braden has been adopted and lives a wonderful, safe and happy life in the DFW area. After rocky beginnings in a really bad breeder situation where many other dogs did not survive, Braden is now living in comfort surrounded with love and affection! We are thrilled that this little 10 month old fella has the opportunity at a wonderful life!

Fritz Dennis

In 2003, we adopted our sweet wonderful Percival (aka Chewy) from Christine. So when we wanted to add another dachshund to the family we knew to check the DDRTX website. We had been checking the available dogs section for a little while when a picture appeared on Facebook of this big ol' boy sitting on his foster Dad's lap at an adoption event. We knew he was meant to be ours. So after exchanging emails with Lee and Nancy (Fritz's foster parents), we asked if Fritz would like to live in Alabama. With the help of Christine, Lisa, Rachael, Carole, DDRTX, and Pilots N' Paws Fritz, was on his way home. We picked him up the day before Thanksgiving. We were so happy to have him home for the holidays. He is such a sweet funny smart boy with beautiful cinnamon colored fur. He loves to go for walks and play with his little tennis ball and is a big "helper" is the kitchen. We love him very much and are so glad to have him apart of our family. God Bless DDRTX, Christine, and all the volunteers for all they do for these wonderful pups!

Molly By Golly

We adopted Molly shortly after Thanksgiving last year, and we were so glad to find that she was the perfect fit for our little family. She and our cat, Bella get along wonderfully, and play (and fight) like sisters. They're inseparable! Molly is GREAT with other dogs. She also loves to swim, and seducks down at the river, and has an appetite that would put a grown man toshame. Although we swore we'd never have a "bed dog"... she's wiggled her way into our hearts... and unfortunately into our bed as well! We figure its a fair trade for all the laughter and memories she's brought into our home overthe last year! Thank you so much for helping chose the right dog for us. Words cannot express the gratitude we feel for your organization and its staff, as Molly has become such a dear part of our family, thanks to Diamond Dachshund Rescue. Sincerely, The Herbert Family.

Kaaz

What a GREAT little dog this red piebald boy is! He is friendly, outgoing, tail wags a mile a minute. Kaaz now lives in the lap of luxury with a family who loves the stuffing out of him!
