Babybel

When Babybel (previously known as Denver Belle) first came to us, from Diamond Dachshund Rescue, she was still nervous and unsure due to her difficult past. Over the years, we were able to watch her slowly come out of her shell and blossom into an energetic yet bossy little princess. Even as age slowed her down, she always made sure she had the energy to roll around in the big bed, and to do her little pre-dinner dance. She was brave and resilient until the very end, and taught us to be the same as well.

The times we spent with Babybel were some of the happiest and most rewarding years of our lives. She was an absolute sweetheart and her gentle yet stubborn personality will always be remembered.  She is irreplaceable and will be in our hearts always.

Barney "Barnabus"

From the day we first set eyes on you Barnabus, you became our “Barney.”  Your story tore at our hearts and we knew we wanted you to come live with us and give you love and a happy home.  We brought you home on New Year’s day 2016. You left us November 25, 2016.  Too soon for us but you were loved so very much.

Dear Barney we will always miss your sweet face but we also know you are free of pain and that you are running and playing like you should have all your life.

Have fun over the Rainbow Bridge!

Bentley

Friends. It is with a very heavy heart that we share with all of you that our beloved baby boy, our best friend Bentley has passed.    His condition declined over the course of evening even with the seizure medications. We received the call early this morning to come and see him. We want all of you to know his story and how he came into our lives. We were mourning the loss of our adopted senior dog who passed a few months back. As a family we decided to honor his memory and we would adopt senior dogs. One day we were casually looking on rescue sites and saw a picture of Bentley with his tongue out. That was it. That was the moment that we found the one thing that we didn’t know we were missing in our lives. Bentley was a puppy mill dog. After years at being there he was no longer active and they wanted him gone. A rescue organization found him and took him in. He didn’t receive dental care for years at the puppy mill and that’s why he didn’t have teeth. The doctors estimated he was approximately 10-13 at the time of our adoption. So that means at best he was 18-19 years old today. He gave us 7 wonderful years. Nothing but love and adventures. Our visit this morning was beyond difficult to see our little boy not himself. He displayed behaviors that we knew he was not his true character. We spent a great amount of time as family comforting him and talking to him, telling him we were there and cuddling, and giving him kisses. This morning, under the shade of a magnolia tree and birds singing, he quietly passed away in our arms.    Bentley, Mommy and Daddy want to thank you for all the years of laughter and tears of joy. For the true lessons in life, that it’s not where you come from, but what you can give back to where you are going and where you land. We hope we gave you wonderful golden years that you will continue to tell your new    friends about. We miss you soo much baby boy. We will see you again. We love you.
