Ferni

Ferni was rescued by a kind couple who found her in their garage during a thunderstorm in Del Rio and took her to DDRTX in San Antonio. When we adopted her she had recently lost all her teeth and was understandably a little reserved, we only had the privilege of knowing Ferni for 3 short years, but over that short period she blossomed into a real little character, who totally captured our hearts, we were so blessed to have had her in our lives. Our beloved girl lost her 18 month battle with bladder cancer this past November at age 14 years, and left a huge hole in our hearts that will never be filled. We will always remember her cute little ways. Her little tongue hanging out the side of her mouth, how she would run to greet either of us when we returned home or how excited she was when we put on our shoes to go out in the car. She loved her belly rubs and playing with her toys. When we first adopted her she barely ever made a sound, after a few months she became quite vocal and loved to try and get her adopted sister to play with her as she barked. It is inconceivable how a tiny 10 1/2 pound senior lady could impact our lives so much in that short a time. Feeling that heart beat slowly fading as she took her final breath was heartbreaking for us, but a merciful release for her. She in now out of all her pain on the other side of the Bridge. RIP Ferni.

Frankie

Our Frankie has gone to the Rainbow Bridge on Friday, March 24, 2023. He succumbed to cancer. He came into our lives less than a year ago and was immediately an addition to our family.

Frankie was a little dog with a big personality. He had such an enthusiasm for life. He loved to eat and play with his toys. He also loved to be outside in the warm sun with our other dachshund, Ranger.

He was especially close with our son, Wyatt. They shared a close bond. Frankie slept in his room with him and waited for his return near the door when he was away at school. Wyatt was always assured that upon his arrival that Frankie would be there wagging his tail and waiting for hugs and kisses.

Our time with Frankie was short, but the time he had with us was happy. He will be missed. We love you Frankie.

Frazier

2000 - 2014

On July 26, 2014 our beloved Frazier crossed the rainbow bridge. Adopted in 2007, he brought joy to the Ortiz family for several years. Frazier was with another family previously, but found his way to his furever home with us. He gave us so much love and loyalty without asking for anything in return. He filled our lives with happiness. Frazier will be missed but never forgotten. Thank you for everything you shared with our family and we will be reunited again. You were the best son and brother a family could ask for "monkey."

Love Mom, Dad, and Sissy
